Support Needy Children with Protein-rich foods

As enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, children have the right to an adequate standard of living, and to be free from any form of health, education, nutrition, care or protection related deprivation.

The Ugandan Constitution makes repeated references to food security. In Article XIV and Article XXII, the duties of the State are outlined – to ensure the establishment of ‘national food reserves’ and ‘to encourage and promote proper nutrition through mass education and other appropriate means’. Unfortunately, the average number of meals consumed by majority of household members in Uganda is below the recommended standard.

With a basis to the above attributes, Child2Youth Foundation embarked on a program to feed children on protein-rich food which is not affordable by many poor households.
